Biography[]

Early life[]

Adventurous childhood[]

Annie McCallin was born on January 3, 2003 to Lucy McCallin. Her teacher in first grade was Mr. Black. At age five her little brother, Samuel McCallin, was born in 2008. She claimed that she had a lot of adventure in her past even though she wasn’t always after it.

Defeating Mykew Hadeline[]

"The Cuffs of Energy... belong to her of course. Buried in the underworld... Hadeline!"
―Reba Silo on Hadeline's so-called post mortem[src]
Annie

Annie clashes with Mykew Hadeline, the moment of her life.

Annie’s archenemy was the treacherous Mykew Hadeline, who was surrounded by rumors — some said she was Jadis’ lost daughter, some said she was a cyborg built by the early NoHeads, and some said she was Rotta Hecks’ grandmother. In a final attempt to murder Annie, Hadeline headed to Annie's house by turning time and wielded the lightning cuffs she had built. However, Annie used her shield to absorb the electric attacks, and finally succeeded in taking the lightning cuffs, which she used to kill her quarry. After Hadeline's death, the cuffs were given to the young Lerner Chanse, but they were later stolen in the night by Reba Silo Walltalker. The Post-Script shows a flashback of her fighting Mykew Hadeline years prior. As her education continued, Annie's third grade teacher was Mr. Garcia.

After learning of the Planet 12 Hoax and the plight of her mother, Annie's best friend at the time, Katy, betrayed her and left her for dead. She would not learn the reason for this until 2022.[1]

Fourth grade[]

"Savannah. Her ears are blue, but I'm starting to think she has other issues."
―Annie McCallin[src]

Annie's fourth grade teacher was Mrs. Wilcox, though the names of her other teachers remain unknown. At the end of the school year, Annie met Savannah van Dukas at a play. After it ended, Annie found the actress talking to Shelby and addressed her, prompting Shelby to leave. Annie and the girl introduced themselves and Savannah claimed she did not know why her ears were blue. Savannah then pointed out that differences can be good at times, if the subject was not misunderstood. Annie halfway agreed. Savannah revealed that "they've got something cool planned", just as a young woman walked up to them, prompting Savannah to send Annie away. After saying hello to two other actors, Annie left the theater.

Annie believed that Savannah may also have other issues besides her ears. The next day, Annie received a notice in promoting Camp Fun and Games, an outdoor summer camp, in the mail. The mentioned activities were all things Annie loved to do. She told her mother that Savannah had told her about it. Lucy told her she should be nice, and then granted Annie permission to attend the camp.[1]

Camp Fun and Games[]

First Day[]

"Charity...I was really hoping you could be our teacher."
"Why?"
"I just thought you were really nice...and I’m not sure about this guy.
"
―Annie and Charity about Cherical[src]

A few mornings later, Annie boarded the bus to camp, during which time she met the driver, a beautiful woman named Charity Hirz. Charity revealed Savannah was coming as well. At camp, Annie noticed with delight that everything was ready. Although Annie thought Charity was their teacher, Charity introduced Cherical McSnake, Charity's assistant and, unbeknownst to Annie, her servant by blood. Finally, Charity, whom Annie trusted, agreed to give them a tour of the camp before leaving the students into her office.

Cherical led them over to say the Pledge of Allegiance. Annie wondered what Charity was doing as she followed Cherical to the American flag. After saying the pledge, Cherical showed them the camp rules. Annie had already assumed most of these weren't allowed, and so did Savannah. After that, Cherical said all the kids were free to look on their own, and that if anyone wanted to do the swimming tests now, they could. Annie, Seth, and Pamela walked up, and everyone else explored on their own. Annie knew all the basics of swimmimg and more. Pamela and Seth also passed the test.

For lunch, they roasted hot dogs over the barbecue pit. Annie got a bit distracted, and ended up burning hers. However, she was able to trade with Savannah, who liked burned hot dogs. Three hours later, Cherical called all the kids back to the circle and asked them if they had fun. He then went over to Charity's office and told her it was time to take the campers back home on the bus. Two minutes later, Charity came out and climbed onto the bus, before signaling the others to do the same. As she drove them home, revealing in the process that she and Cherical would take them to Big Castle Park in two months.

When the bus dropped Annie off, Annie's parents were waiting at the door. They were anxious to see how Annie's first day had gone. As the bus took off, Annie said it was OK. She also revealed that Cherical was their teacher, though she did like him. Mrs. McCallin nodded, and Mr. McRae went inside. Annie walked in, and Mrs. McCallin closed the door behind her. On the table, milk and ants-on-a-log were waiting for her. Annie was soon joined by her brother Samuel. As Annie ate, what she was really thinking about was the end-of-summer field trip, which Savannah had cited to be fun yet scary.[1]

Continuation[]

The second day was different. Savannah and Rose did the swimming test as well. Savannah seemed to show off a little during the tryouts, but she did pass. Afterwards, the group did many organized activities together, including football and hiking. On the third day, both of them had fun together. Annie also got to know the other kids, and developed a slightly stronger affection than the others for Freddy and Rose. Every day after that proved to be just as appealing. Annie and Savannah spent a lot of time together. Football and tennis were played often, as well as soccer. Annie and Savannah fished together several times. During the first arts-and-crafts session, Annie won first place for her clay sculpture of[1] Jedi Master Yoda's[citation needed] head. Once, Savannah rode the canoe with Annie as her passenger. Savannah also proved to have an incredible level of talent, especially when it came to tennis and swimming. In fact, both of them had so much fun over the next two months that they almost forgot about the field trip. Annie had never been, but Mrs. McRae promised it would be fun. She was also eluded about why Charity Hirz had not shown up once during camp, although she always drove the kids to their homes on the bus.[1]

Visiting Charity Hirz[]

On the third-to-last day of summer camp, Charity drove the kids to school again. She climbed out and headed right for her office. Cherical rounded up the kids, but then Annie asked if she could visit Charity in her office, since she missed her. Although Charity was accompanying them on the end-of-year field trip, Cherical agreed to let her. When the announcements were over, Annie headed for Charity's office. When Annie arrived, she was surprised to see, through the glass door, what Charity was up to. She was eating cookies and watching television in her bra. One end of the room had a refrigerator and the other had a desk with a phone and computer. Finally, Annie knocked. Charity was still relaxing on a couch when she asked who was at the door. Annie said it was her. After getting up, Charity grabbed her blue leather jacket and headed to the door. From behind the door, she asked Annie what she wanted. Annie replied that she wanted to spend some time with her before camp ended.

Charity unlocked the deadbolt and opened the door whilst putting on the jacket. She then beaconed Annie inside. It was only now that she noticed Charity was wearing jean shorts and was barefoot. Charity told Annie to sit down, and then went to fetch a small bottle. She walked over to sit by Annie, then revealed that the pills inside were to help her with her infamous surgery from when she was 8. She claimed it would not be long before she was strong enough to teach the students again. She also said that it was best to relax during the operation. Annie said there were some odd things in her life, which helped her believe Charity's story.

She then asked what had happened with Charity's surgery, but they were then interrupted by Cherical, who claimed it was time to take everyone home. Shocked, Charity ushered Annie outside, where Savannah asked her where she had been. Annie explained that she had a talk with Charity, but was then disturbed to notice Cherical and Charity talking about a secret remote with malicious tones.[1]

The Bell Family's secret[]

The next day, and the eve of Big Castle Park, Cherical was reading to the kids when Charity activated the remote and flung Savannah away from the group. Bewildered, Annie got up to see Savannah wildly jerking in both directions involuntarily before lifting ten meters into the air. Lightning circled around her frozen, screaming form until she hit the ground hard. Then she lifted back into the air...and landed. This process repeated itself several times. Then Annie turned toward Charity's office and was shocked to see Charity using the remote and smiling. Finally she stopped, and Savannah hit the ground hard. Rushing to Savannah's motionless form, Annie asked her if she was all right. Savannah knew what had happened, but she did not know that Charity had tortured her because of a memory wipe. Annie looked over at Charity. The following sadistic laugh was not help, neither was her disappearing into the office.

Annie rushed toward Charity's office and knocked. Charity headed toward the door. Annie immediately confronted her for torturing Savannah. Charity opened the door, and Annie stormed inside. Charity calmly asked her if she was trying to initiate a fight, one of which she thought Annie found to be an easy win. When Annie demanded for her reasons for the torture, Charity merely replied that Savannah deserved it. With that, Charity used the remote to shoot Annie upward and out of the building, back into the camp itself. When Annie landed, she immediately realized the situation had to be a conspiracy, this coupled from the other events. Before Cherical could address Annie, Charity told him Annie was no longer allowed to attend the camp via phone, which Cherical immediately revealed to Annie. Cherical assured her Savannah would be fine. On the way home, Annie was unsure whether she should tell her parents she suspected the teachers were secretly wicked people, especially if they were not.[1]

Union of Ladybugs[]

Big Castle Park[]

On the last day of camp, Annie, along with Savannah, stowed onto the bus so they could join the other students at Big Castle Park and learn more about Charity's motives.

Enslavement to the t and i Factory[]

"Finally...the truth."
―Annie[src]

Two hours after their arrival, Savannah accidentally hit Annie in the face with a beam, knocking her out and leaving them both to be captured with the others. Captured by Cherical McSnake, they were taken to the t and i factory and enslaved there. Unbeknowst to them they were serving Charity’s plan to become a Super, and it is likely if Annie knew this she would have worked even harder.

Robert's murder prompted a vengeful Annie and Savannah to form their own secret organization to combat the malevolent Brotherhood and get revenge on Laura for what she had done. The organization was named Union of Ladybugs since Chastity thought they sounded far too cute for the Brotherhood to take them seriously.

A week after the capture, Annie and Savannah were nearly burned at the stake after refusing to bow to a t and i model but were saved by the fortunate arrival of their friends. After a skirmish, the entire main room was nearly destroyed by the dark fire Cherical unleashed but could not control. Annie and Cherical were able to escape, and Savannah put out the flames, but Charity perished in the flames that also destroyed the lightning cuffs. After the fight, Annie and Savannah viewed the memories given by Cherical, which revealed to them that Charity was, all along, on the light side, and had enslaved them for a surprisingly good cause that she planned to make up for. Annie and Savannah both agreed to become part-time crime fighters and finish the job.

After being transported home by Cherical McSnake himself, Cherical gave Annie a locket that would allow her to summon the ghost of Charity Hirz. When she went inside, she told her mother what had happened. Afterwards, Savannah showed Annie a flier indicating that their middle school was threatened. Annie claimed her sense of adventure was "unquenchable" when Savannah asked, and they agreed to intervene.[1]

Unfortunately, they missed the bus. They resorted to walking to school together, where Savannah asked Annie if she had learned anything about the Sworn yet, which Annie denied. Upon arriving, however, they learned that the bus mysteriously got into a wreck, but it was mysteriously set straight, as if by an all-powerful current, much to the confusion of the girls. Savannah suggested calling Cherical McSnake, which Annie chose to do. She asked him what happened, and he confessed to stopping the current. Annie questioned this action, which Cherical explained was to prevent rescuers from jeopardizing his seclusion. Annie suggested it may also have been done out of compassion, of which Cherical claimed he had none for humans. This last remark confused and upset Annie and she hung up on him.

They learned of Essama, a magical object created and initially owned by Urg Venezoma. However, Savannah realized they have no idea who possessed it now.[2]

Finally, Annie seized the locket and summoned Charity's ghost. This effectively frightened the villains, who ran away in terror, believing the school to be haunted. For her efforts, Annie, Savannah, and Freddy were awarded special awards for their service to the school.[2]

Cherical asked Savannah why she's helping him, to which Savannah replied Cherical helped her best friend figure out what she was going to do with her life, as she was facing depression and contemplated suicide around the end of the school year preceding Camp Fun and Games as she felt she was insignificant, something Annie had recently become open to confessing over. Cherical asked if unintentionally bringing someone else to their senses was good enough, and Savannah replied that you don't always need a reason to help someone in trouble. Cherical reflected that Savannah may be one-of-a-kind, but Savannah said that everyone is. And as they approached, Cherical told Savannah she did not know what she was, and soon, it may not matter.

As Veyakon staggered to his feet, Dukas (under the Cloak of Ruination) escaped with Essama.

After a brief reconciliation, Cherical McSnake spoke the code "Aye setten, I say!", causing Essama to spring open. Inside the capsule was the ghost of Mykew Hadeline, which burst out and began to mentally torture its enemies mocking their greatest fears. Apparitions then came out of Essama, and while Dukas fought off what turned out to be but illusions of little green haints, McSnake was transfixed by visions of Charity Hirz cruelly mocking him and claiming that even if Hirz were still alive, McSnake would be considered dispensable. With McSnake yelling at her, Dukas yelled back and smothered Essama with the Cloak of Ruination, destroying it, though it caused her immense pain to do so and left her in blisters. McCallin arrived and took the remnants of Essama, intending to show Veyakon the evidence of their victory.

Annie went to stop Lord Veyakon, but while she was gone, Cherical and an injured Savannah encountered him first. Veyakon nearly succeeded in overpowering an unarmed Cherical in a one-sided duel, but then Annie intervened and hurled the Cloak towards Cherical, only for Savannah van Dukas to catch it instead, having awoken from her stupor.

Savannah folded up the cloak and jumped from the ledge and landed on the floor, and proceeded to face Veyakon. Dukas managed to defeat Veyakon after a lengthy, destructive and harsh fight while also protecting McCallin and McSnake, who had been put in harm's way, but was again forced to run from the imploding building. Lord Veyakon was then able to begin laying waste to Westridge. Westridge was utterly destroyed. Savannah understood now that the destruction of her school was inevitable, and that Westridge still existed but now in its people and its legacy. Savannah confessed that she may never know why her ears are blue, but she's okay with that now.[2]

After the revolution ended, Annie McCallin finished school and made friends with a girl named Kaylee.[2]

"Where's Annie? Let's see what she thinks."
"Cowardly old scab. Annie's got ten times her guts.

―The trio visit the McCallin home[src]

On her way home over the Christmas holidays in 2030, NoHeads captured Annie because her mother had been printing stories in support of Baby Intelligence.

It was believed that Annie was held captive at Beta Prison, though she was actually imprisoned in the dungeons of the Yellowstone Base. Her mother was so desperate to get her back that she tried to turn Baby Intelligence, Force Baby, and Baby Strength over to the NoHeads in exchange for her freedom; the trio escaped, but Force Baby ensured that the NoHeads Lucy called glimpsed Baby Intelligence as they left, so that neither she nor Annie would be punished. The McCallins' home was largely destroyed. After the failed ambush Lucy was taken to Beta Prison prison for the remainder of the war.[3]

After the war ended, Annie McCallin was released along with her mother. She went to college with Kaylee.[4]

After Annie received her college degree, she began work for the FBI as she had promised Cherical McSnake.[5] She worked alongside Savannah until Savannah was killed off during a mission. Annie was depressed by her loss, but she still continued her job.[6]

Vault Crisis[]

Bringing together the Vault Squad[]

Annie McCallin joined the task force that unleashed the Vault of Ages. Cardarphen outfitted her with shoulder pauldrons with the squad number "4" to signify her affiliation. She learned that Superquack, Wayne, and Charles Hugh and his wife, Valiera, and their son Corvus Quintana had also been recruited to join. They agreed to call themselves the Vault Squad, much to Annie's annoyance. While Annie took a deep breath, Manson then explained how The Ilo came from Almanbae Occultism and sought to consume Sol and rule over all of existence.[6]

Before he knew it, a vision of Annie McCallin appeared before him. When The Ilo discovered that Annie was a member of the Vault Squad, asking what they intended to do with the Vault of Ages, she decided to try and seduce him into revealing his plans. The Ilo realized, much to his horror, that he had been tricked, and the illusion suddenly disappeared. Annie decided to keep this new development between them from her teammates, fearing that she would lose her friends' trust if any of them mistook her and The Ilo's newfound connection as a betrayal. However, she did feel extremely disoriented by the encounter and nervous about The Ilo's power, so she went looking around the bunkers, trying to see if anyone was awake, and discovering only Cara Mota.[6]

As her mission continued, her connection with The Ilo became stronger and resulted in more frequent interactions between them. At first, Annie was inconvenienced by the fact that she was bonded with a primordial being hell-bent on domination. To her surprise, however, The Ilo no longer tried to hide his feelings of pain and misery from Annie. The two began to openly discuss The Ilo's plan, which Annie emphasized with because of her devotion to her own people, and she promised not to tell the others the truth about The Ilo and the latter's relationship with Torkenbrand. She promised him to visit her in person and she would have an amazing dinner ready over which he would tell her why he was hurt and otherwise spend the remainder of the night having fun with her in any way he desired. Her tender offer alarmed him and he strongly took it into consideration. It was because of the bond and her new understanding of The Ilo's pain that Annie came to suspect that their destinies were intertwined.

Torkenbrand soon forgot this and attacked her in order to complete his plan to bring The Ilo to the star system.

Cardarphen then told McCallin that she could only defeat The Ilo with help from her friends.

As a result, she turned to the one person whom she felt could relate to her sense of loss: The Ilo. The being listened intently as Annie recalled her experience and insisted she was not alone despite her sense of loneliness. Annie returned his gesture, in kind, and came to hope that it was not too late for him.

By then, their bond had reached an unprecedented level in strength and raw power to the extent that Annie compared it to feeling a deflector shield. She tentatively raised her hand to touch him, although she expected their hands to simply pass through each other. When their fingers actually touched, Annie grasped The Ilo's hand. Mesmerized by his gaze, Annie told him how to get into the Vault of Ages before asking he reconsider her offer.[7]

Bonding with Cara Mota[]

Annie McCallin entered Cara Mota's bedchambers with Ronan to update her on the new arrangement of the treasures. She was surprised to collect evidence that Cara had not simply laid down and fallen into slumber. On the contrary, she had stayed up all night watching gruesome horror movies and eating Nutella and processing sugar excessively. Just as she was about to wake her, Cara began to regain consciousness. Slightly flustered by the evidence of how Cara had celebrated their success, she updated her on the new arrangement of the treasures and both girls settled down with her, bonding over their shared and secretive love of dubstep.

Dismayed by how much she loved people like Ronan and how much she had confided in The Ilo, she finally confessed that The Ilo had tricked her into giving away the secret. She expected Ronan to be angry, but instead she told an initially flustered Annie to touch her muscular belly and keep her hand there while she and Cara both explained that people must always fail before they can succeed, and that failures lead to successes disguised as more failures, citing her own consistent fitness regimen as living proof of this. She beckoned Annie rest in there with her. Moved by Ronan and Cara's forgiveness, Annie surmised that only a true friend could be so understanding, and did as she beckoned her to. She later got similar advice from Summer Thompson, who could relate to Mota because she agreed with Mota's views on failure, citing as an example of her own that if she had never started gaining weight, she would have died from anorexia and Steven may never have come as hard onto her as she did to him. Annie flattered her obvious weight loss before childishly feeling her abs and pecs, making Summer smile.[7]

Annie McCallin fought in the War of Jupiter.[5]

Physical description[]

Annie McCallin was once described as being “irresistible,” with her piercing blue eyes, shining teeth, red curly hair, and look on life. Savannah thought Annie was still adorable as a 9-year-old, even though she didn’t say so. Although she had a variety of outfits, her mood usually showed on the shirt she wore. In her adulthood, she wore shoulder pauldrons with the squad number "4" to signify her affiliation with the Vault Squad.

Personality and traits[]

"Eight-year-old Annie McCallin is irresistible, with her blue eyes, toothless grin, and positive outlook on life."
Annie and the Blue-Eared Kid

Many of her classmates and even a handful of authority figures viewed Annie McCallin as an eternally self-absorbant pessimist who didn't see flaws in herself and always believed the worst was going to happen. However, it is shown that Annie does care for people, especially her friends. Although Annie causes trouble on occasion, she is more than willing to provide compensation whenever she makes mistakes, which is also why she brought the Union of Ladybugs together in the first place. She was also unafraid to say what she thought, as unlike most of the kids she immediately confessed her disappointment when Cherical McSnake became their teacher instead of Charity Hirz. Eccentric, brilliant, outgoing, and cocky, Annie's jovial and charming facade belie her most deep-seated insecurity: her belief that she was truly alone. Indeed, she had grown up as a confused, lonely, and lost person who often used her eccentricity and natural charm to make people think she was fine and didn't need any more help than the next person did.

Annie was a self-centered, arrogant person who didn't truly care for many people other than her closest friends. Even during this period of her life, however, she had a moral code stubbornly believing no one deserved to be robbed of their liberty unless they had given up their rights by doing evil. She also always prioritized humanitarian aid whenever she paid tithing.

During the following years, however, Annie has matured, gradually becoming more of a team player and becoming somewhat less arrogant and cynical. Despite having a serious attitude that was a turn-off to a lot of people, Annie ultimately possessed a kind heart and was far more compassionate than even she would admit, possessing a sense of innate selfless benevolence, courage, nerve, honor, and loyalty that all rose to the surface before and during the Battle of the t and i Factory.

Her experiences during the Attack on Earth, especially her acceptance from the residents of Camp Fun and Games and seeing the works of the Brotherhood for herself, hardened Annie into a brave, determined, and somewhat ruthless fighter, despite her sarcastic and enthusiastic personality remaining intact. Seeing first hand how innocent people were being harmed by extrasolar terrorists while she remained just as ignorant and indifferent as the next small child only to witness the murder of her dear friend Robert Bremmer greatly enraged her and motivated her to become a better woman.

The closeness that Annie felt for many was great enough for her to behave violently if any of them were harmed. Her experiences at Camp Fun and Games made her much more of an optimist, and it was she who suggested crossing more letters could help unveil what they didn’t know about Charity Hirz’s plans. Out of all the students at Camp Fun and Games, she was the closest to Charity, refusing to see her inner motives or listen to anyone else in regards to them until she caught her torturing Savannah.

During times of great stress and frustration, Annie could become very short-tempered and intolerant of those whom she considered her superficial inferiors for delaying a solution to the problem either mocking or berating them or ignoring them entirely. This behavior extended to both allies and foes.

Twenty years after her experiences with the Mediators, Annie's growth was most displayed by her reaction to suddenly gaining contact with the monstrous Ilo. Despite some initial uncertainties, she confided in The Ilo, whom she assured was not alone. Her feelings toward The Ilo gradually changed due to the bond they shared. As their connection strengthened, Annie was surprised by how open The Ilo was with his emotions and became driven to convince him to join her. Despite this, she was wracked with guilt upon realizing that The Ilo had seduced her into giving Torkenbrand passage into the Vault of Ages and distrusted her after everything, and became desperate to destroy him and do anything to serve the Vault Squad. It was then that she stopped shutting out her teammates and was willing to openly speak with Cara Mota and Ronan, both of who comforted her about her guilt and told her not to shame herself, later receiving similar advice from Summer Thompson. She momentarily did, but her deep shame resurfaced when Summer died. Part of her guilt stemmed from her regret over directing Torkenbrand to Summer, blaming herself for Summer's death. She was therefore uncharacteristically tearful when Steven angrily agreed that Summer's death was Annie's fault and kept trying to hurt her as much as possible. However, she eventually came to acknowledge failure as the greatest teacher of all.

Facilities[]

Westridge Elementary School: Annie attended this school for at least three years. As the conquest occurred, Annie ultimately accepted the inevitable, allowing Westridge to be destroyed.

Relationships[]

Allies[]

Savannah van Dukas[]

Annie initially found Savannah van Dukas to be creepy and arrogant. Eventually the two became best friends after hanging out for two weeks at Camp Fun and Games. Savannah in turn, lied to keep her from getting in trouble. Her quick mind was at times the only thing that saved them from potential failure in both life-threatening and everyday situations. Out of concern for her friend, Savannah often chided Annie for her recklessness.

Savannah was always with Annie and was fiercely protective of her. Annie, for her part, was quick to defend Savannah against threats like bullies or terrible events. She was also known to protect her physically on instinct during like cases. Though their friendship remained entirely platonic, at times their closeness engendered jealously or curiosity in others; especially those who had feelings for one or the other, including Freddy and Dean.

As Annie herself described, Savannah was her best friend, akin to a sister. It could be further said she was like her older sister, protective and always trying to keep her from going astray, though Annie was the same, trying to protect her and keep her social skills in check. The two were also close enough to share their feelings with one another before sharing those feelings with their significant other. They provided the other with comfort and support when in emotionally stressing situations. After Charity Hirz’s death, Savannah continued to keep a close eye on Annie during school and later life.

Charity Hirz[]

Charity Hirz

Charity Hirz, a close friend.

Charity Hirz was a friend to Annie. Annie felt comfortable enough around the impressive figure of Charity to shout at her in frustration, cry out of grief, admit to her fears, and entrust her with her life. Charity in return considered Annie to be a talented and strong girl, noting that Annie was a leader of superior quality to herself, as Annie led because others looked to her to lead them rather than because she had ever sought power or authority for herself. Eventually, Annie feared she wouldn’t see her again and arranged to have a chat, which lasted for several hours. During this time, Charity revealed the pills she was on, though she never revealed why she sought the strength she did. Though Annie was initially furious with her for torturing Savannah, the two continued to be close.

Although she began to fear her after the t and i factory enslavement, Charity’s death was greatly devastating to Annie. Despite this, she persevered as a crime fighter afterwards. Annie had difficulty coping with the fact that there was much Charity had not told her about her backstory and intentions, but Charity’s ghost told her what the hologram pit had not shown.

Annie later made sure Charity’s heroism was known.

Cherical McSnake[]

Although she had her doubts about Cherical at first, Annie quickly began to warm up to him. They forged a strong student-teacher bond, comparable to that between two close family members, in spite of the decades of age difference. Annie felt comfortable enough around the impressive, intimidating figure of Cherical McSnake to shout at him in frustration and admit to her fears, but it was only Savannah van Dukas and Charity Hirz whom she entrusted with her life. The t and i factory made relationhips complicated, but they quickly made up after the ensuing battle.

Freddy[]

"There's no factual evidence that our relationship extends past an incredible friendship, as we've never shown signs of attraction to each other, kapeesh?"
―Annie McCallin[src]

Freddy became friends with Annie rather quickly. In 2022, they both attended Camp Fun and Games, during which time his bond with Annie became stronger. She was also a bit annoyed with his anti-ageism stance, but she later realized he was right. When Annie told Freddy she was going to confront Charity, Freddy wanted to join her, out of worry for her well being. During the t and i Factory, however, he disapproved of her positive outlook on the situation.

After Charity and Cherical attempted to burn Annie at the stake, Freddy saved her life. After the battle, Annie escorted Freddy home. Freddy teamed up with Annie in the following school year and they saved their school in what became known as the Conquest of Westridge.

The first time Annie met The Ilo, she was enraged to meet the malevolent primordial being in the flesh. She was further surprised by The Ilo's ability to access Annie's mind while she probed his, allowing him to see her thoughts as well as her conflicts and doubts. Ronan grew preoccupied by what she sensed from him; that their destinies were somehow intertwined. To Annie's surprise, The Ilo no longer bothered trying to hide his pain and misery from her. He allowed Annie to confide in him and reassured her that she was not alone, that is, until it got in the way of his plans to enslave the Multiverse, so he became hellbent on murdering her, all in spite of having every legitimate reason to trust Annie with his life.
